Past Workshops
Bottle Rocket Workshop - February 16, 2023
We visited the Dalhousie Community Association to build bottle rockets with a group of 40 kids between the ages of 5 and 10. After helping the kids build their own rockets, we filled them up with soapy water "rocket fuel" and went outside to launch them. The kids organized some very enthusiastic countdowns!
Exoplanet Workshop - April 16, 2022
We delivered a 45 minute hands-on workshop about exoplanets to junior high students attending the third annual Rocky Mountain Junior Science Contest in Calgary, Alberta. Highlights included a demontration of exoplanet transits and the step-by-step creation of a scale model of our solar system with volunteers from the audience.
Perseverance Mars Rover Workshop - March 6, 2021
Current President Sayan Saha and Vice President Julian Tan delivered a virtual workshop about the Perseverance Mars Rover to junior high students across Canada. The enthusiatic response to this workshop was one of the sparks that led to the official founding of The Case For Space Society just months later in July 2021. A copy of the presentation file can be accessed here.
